Bill VanZanten is a Whatcom County native and is actively involved in the community.
He started at Western Services in 1982, and became a partner in WRS in 1992, becoming CEO in 2001 and continuing in that capacity today.
Manager – Civil Division
Kyle leads civil construction operations for WRS and been in the heavy civil construction industry since 1992. Kyle earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington and strives to provide our clients with the highest quality projects in a safe, ethical and economical manner.
Ryan was born in Lynden WA and grew up on a small dairy farm. Aside from a break to study business and accounting in Michigan, he has been involved with the company since graduating from Lynden Christian in 1990.
Manager – Industrial Services
Craig is a lifetime Whatcom County resident and has been with WRS since 1990. Craig has fulfilled numerous roles here at WRS including laborer, operator and site manager. In his current role he has been afforded the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients primarily in the oil and gas sector.
Jerry has been in the refinery maintenance industry since 1982 when he founded Western Services, the company branched out into civil construction and paving in 1990. In 2000 Jerry sold controlling interest of the company but stayed actively involved as CFO.
Manager – Human Resources
Tim heads up our human resources department and has been with WRS since 2013 prior to which he specialized in activity therapy with at risk youth. Tim is passionate about working with our employees and loves to see them develop as employees and as people.
Manager – Paving Division
Entering the paving industry in 1990 and joining WRS in 2010. Loren brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the WRS team.
Starting in the equipment industry at 17 Randy brings a vast amount of experience to the team. Having run the WRS shop since 2014, Randy’s role as shop manager covers our ever growing fleet of heavy equipment and trucks, as well as all contract maintenance and repair.
